What's on your plate?
“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV
For as long as I could remember, my head was full of so much that the Lord has put inside me that needed to come out and be expressed. However, I haven’t been able to get any of it out properly. It’s always been a start and stop or not starting at all. It felt like there was a blockage, and it was a frustrating and miserable place to be which would leave me sad, depressed, and feeling unfulfilled.
For some time I have been frustrated and “stuck” and was tired of being here. One day, tired of “being” where I was, I started to ask God questions, talking with my mentors, and out of that, I had an encounter with the Lord where He showed me why I was getting stuck and what had shifted in my walk with Him which I was oblivious to.
Having realigned, the scripture above has been highlighted to me and as I’ve meditated, I have gotten clarity and understanding of how it plays out in my life. A simple analogy would be sitting at a dining table to eat. There is a spread on the table and there is food on your plate. However, just because there is a lot of food on the table doesn’t mean you eat everything at the same time. You are meant to eat what is on your plate first, and then you can have something else from the table. That is how our walk with God should be. God has put in us so many things which will come to full manifestation at the right time, but a lot of times, we get carried away and start sampling everything on the table without even touching what is on our plate. So in the end, we have sampled everything, but we have not “completed” or “finished” anything.
Verse 3 says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
- Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV
The vision is never late because, with God, nothing is ever late. Everything is always ON TIME. How soon we run with it or not is what determines if it will tarry.
If you are feeling like I was, then maybe it’s time to stop and look at what is on your plate. Eat that first and watch as He serves you other dishes as you go. As you do the one thing He has asked, then the blessings, gifts, and skills which are given to you will begin to manifest. The Lord is always on your side and all He desires is for you to succeed.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Please do share.
Love always
Yika ❤️
